Blog: Wiki So Far

In our Wiki, so far, I've done some grammatical corrections on pages like New Media and Fitness and New Media Concerns about E-waste. Also, I replaced the non-working image on the Fashion page of the online shopping website Zaful. After reviewing the Wiki, I found a field like traveling, and I love traveling. Unfortunately, since the pandemic, I couldn't travel abroad, but I had a chance to discover an unusual for me activity like camping. I've found a great application with a new interest, Hipcamp, which I plan to add to our traveling page. The application is designed to find a campground in any state you want, any national parks, or someone's farm. You can rent a campground for your tent, RV. You can also add any specifications like if you want to have luke water available, shower, fireplace, and many more.

File sharing is transferring a file from one computer to another. File-sharing can be between any two devices connected through a network or using a storage device. There are different ways to share a file, such as uploading it on a hosting website; anyone who can access the server will also have access to the file. Some typical clients are BitTorrent, LimeWire, and Vuze. A torrent file contains information about files to be distributed, such as names, structure, network locations, etc. It identifies such computers that can send the parts of the requested file. With this, it can download a file from different com...

Blog: Advice

If I would be hired to create and use new media for Baruch College, I would first update the official college website, make it a more interactive and user-friendly platform. In 2020, social media is the most significant connector between people, so I would definitely create accounts and forums on platforms like Instagram and Facebook to learn more about Baruch college. This will enable students to interact with each other, raise concern. With current pandemic environment, having interactive and engaging platform would have given students more belonging to College. Second, Baruch college’s most widely used information systems like CUNYFirst is not mobile experience efficient. The website uses a non-responsive design, there are many instances of ambiguous labeling. These are present at course enrollment and other important places which causes lots of confusion. Adding more help tooltip should alleviate such issue. Third thing, we should have online help that could be replied by mac...

Blog: Privacy

Social media, privacy, and confidentiality represent the competing forces within most occupational space. Several media platforms foster the spreading of information, discussion creation, attention gaining, and readers' involvement. On the other hand, confidentiality ensures adequate limiting of the communication process through fostering higher privacy standards. The majority of the healthcare business organizations strive to maintain higher levels of confidentiality on vital matters from the public members to prevent bad public relations, business loss, uphold competitiveness, and avoid embarrassment.   Various media outlets need to consider keeping the sensitive personal and institutional information private and confidential for the attainment of the benefits, including; protection from public stereotypes, maintenance of organizational reputation standards, preventing loss of possible business competitiveness, and avoidance of potential legal threats and scrutiny.
