Creativity

In contemporary times, with the invention of new media agencies such as social media, there is an inherent boost in creativity, easily observed. Hence, how has the scope and demand for creativity increased with the popularity of various social media sites and changing times? The role of creativity in new media will be analyzed in this essay to seek answers to such questions.

Creativity exists because new ideas never cease to exist. With access to the whole world with social media sites such as Instagram and Pinterest, it is effortless for anyone to get new ideas from different cultures and think tanks. Additionally, smaller and bigger brands use new media to show their new creative marketing strategies to gain new clients, not only limited to their part of the world. All of this boosts creativity and introduces us to a whole new realm of possibilities.

Similarly, different industries are also using creative routes. For example, the music industry has gone through an evolution with the help of new media. With the introduction of ‘mashups,' new branches have been introduced to music. A mashup is when a vocal from one song is mixed with the music of another song (Frere-Jones, 2005). For example, in the article ‘1+1+1=1: The new math of mashups’, the author Frere-Jones further explains that this new creative idea in the industry got hit so soon because of the thrill it gives the listeners to recognize two songs from famous artists meshed into one.

Moreover, anyone can achieve this form of creativity, anywhere such as the comfort of their bedroom, with their computers, without going to the recording studio (Frere-Jones, 2005). This is not, then, only thrilling but also extraordinarily feasible and accessible to all music lovers. This evolution in the music industry has boosted the creative role and allows anyone to create and mix their favorite songs for their satisfaction. This represents a new era of creativity in the music industry.

Introducing new media sites has boosted creativity and innovation, with more people using unique ideas never used before. Similarly, this has helped different industries change with time, and by accepting the role of new media, more changes are likely to come, and that too, for the better.
